Annoyed at the ex and his gf...?

When I bought my new house a year ago my ex scoffed at me saying it was ok and then proceeded to tell me he and his gf are buying a 700,000 dollar house and that she woudl be a stay home mom (she just had a kid one month ago) he brags about the thngs he wants to buy or makes it sound like he is doing so much better than me...i am not rich but good with my money and cant just go out a buy 50 dollar jeans for kid like he can (for our child) i buy form walmart and zellers cause its cheap and i dont have to worry if it gets ruined so much) but he in his own way kinda puts down what i can get our kid when its my turn to have him and this is not helping at all...at xmas they must have spent 1000 or more on him and i just got him 2 toys, needless to say he wanted more and wasnt appreciating what i could do...iam at a loss and im sick of being made to sound like i cant get my kid anything great...so what if i cant buy 50 dollar jeans or stuff....

I have a 12yr old son and believe me his dad and new wife have way more money than I do. After 12 years I can see that my son does not remember every Lego set and $100 video game bought for him. He remembers the things we did and places I took him. Talk to grown children from broken homes and see what they have to say. On another note, may I suggest you and your ex attend co-parent classes? It helps you establish boundaries and policies. Like xmas and birthdays for instance. Our co parent class had us agree to take ONE list from our kid and divide it up. Large items (bike, snowboard) should say it is from BOTH no matter who paid or have a neutral relative like grandparents give it.
