could a man ride a bike with 24inch tires and get away with it?

Very bord

usually 24inch tires are for kids bikes.but I've rode with 24inch tires and never had a issue other than the pedels breaking off, and the seat cracking lol
My bike is off the road because it's tire is flat and I'm too stubbern to get it fixed because I feel the store I got it from should fix it. So, i'm borrowing my sisters bike. I covered up the pink paint with grey (manly colored) electric tape. but The bike has 24 inch tires, I'm not sure about this. I've ride girls bikes before but they usually have 26inch tires.
I'm asking if the 24inch tires are safe to use since I'm a big man. I don't want to bend the wheels or damage the bike because it has 24inch tires.
Bobby bobby bobby Listen before you judge.
The store sold me a faulty tire. It was old and was bound to pop. Reguardless, if I ran over a nail or glass, the tire would have poped anyways because, the tire they sold me was crapy that the tube bursted. And the tube burst before I ran over any nails or glass.
Most stores replace parts including tires if it was had a defect. and is it my fault for buying it that way? Nope, I'm not an expert in bikes, I assume the bike is in good working order when I buy it. What i don't understand is why stores sell used bikes with parts that are almost ready to explode. give me a break! For God's sake stick a $5 tube in it, and add $5 to the price when you sell it.
I'm not surprized at your arrogant answer. Most people on yahoo answers think that they are know it alls. You ride a bike and think your an expert. Or you read a 20 page book, and now you think your an expert. I'm mature enough to tell people that I'm not an expert in anything. Saying otherwise would make me a liar and in many ways a fool. I Still don't understand why people on yahoo answers think it's an intellectual game, to 'one up' others. That is actually a sign of stupidity.
Please answer the question in a mature and professsional manner.
Hoppy or whatever your name is.
First, I never said the bike was a kids bike. The frame is likely meant for 26" wheels. but the guy put 24" wheels on my sisters bike. This is unrelated to my own bike which is a cheap bike with 26" wheels. I'm borrowing her bike until I fix mine own.
My tire on my bike was not underinflated. It popped like a ballon, and it was bulging off the frame. You need to see the condtion this tire was in. serious, You should not be selling tires to people in that condition. give me a break.
If you had read properly what I said you would know what I was saying. I was talking about people on yahoo answers that are rude and write their answers with a negitive insulting connotation.
Anyways I really don't care about this. It's more of a ethical issue about customer service. I don't care about $5 bike tubes but I care about ethics.
Don't sell bad bike parts to people. It's that simple.
Your answer was good until the end telling me to grow up.
lol this turned out to be funny
ok I'm apolize, This was a PRANK question. hahaha did you fall for it? hehe

Answer
"First, I never said the bike was a kids bike. The frame is likely meant for 26" wheels. but the guy put 24" wheels on my sisters bike."

You never said that to begin with. Which brings up more questions. If the bike originally had 26" wheels & now has 24" wheels - how do you stop it?! The brake pads would come nowhere close to the rim. The bottom bracket & crank would sit at least one inch closer to the ground, meaning the pedals could quite possibly scrape the ground. Many other BAD scenarios.

Personally, I don't think you know what the h*** you're talking about.

Where can I buy a bike seat cushion?

Dianna F

I would like to by a bike seat cushion for my kid he is 9 years old. His bike seat is hard. By the way what are gel sattles

Answer
"By the way what are gel sattles"? SADDLES, not sattles. When you ride a horse, do you sit on a seat or a saddle? Saddle - of course. SAME thing with bicycles. It's a SADDLE not a seat.

In fact - the best bicycle saddles are made by a company that started out making horse saddles...Brooks Leather! Copy & paste...

"In 1878, the unfortunate death of Mr Brooksâ horse led to a stroke of inspiration. Unable to afford another horse, he borrowed a bicycle in order to commute to work. He found the seat so uncomfortable that he vowed to do something about it. On 28 October 1882, Mr Brooks filed his first saddle patent. Waddling cyclists everywhere rejoiced and the new product was a roaring success."
http://www.brooksengland.com/

The "best" saddles have NO padding or gel whatsoever.
http://www.brooksengland.com/catalogue-and-shop/saddles/
The only thing needing support is the "sit bones". Wide cushioned and/or gel saddles do NOT work. They push all that padding or gel AWAY from the sit bones as soon as you sit on them. Then all that padding or gel flows to areas of soft tissue & blood vessels-squeezing them off - and causing MORE pain.

Quote, "When a cyclist finds a saddle uncomfortable, the first impulse is often to look for a soft one. This is often a mistake. Just as the softest mattress is not necessarily the most comfortable to sleep on, the softest saddle is not the most comfortable to cycle on."

Dirt Bikes ??

Q. Can 110cc Dirt BIke hold a 135 pound person without slowing the speed down?

Also can 110cc's be ridden of rode??

And how fast are they??

If u have any more info on the 110cc then just those questions i asked please tell me. Much Appreciated!!!!

Answer
We had a KLX 110 which is a dirt bike. It was a heck of a trail bike. You could easily do a hare scrambles on it if you were a kid. 135lbs was aroud the weight limit because the foot pegs were bolted to the motor. It would probably go around 40mph with a 135 lb rider on it. But it would pull plenty hard. Only had 3 speeds. I wouldn't advise buying an "off brand" one.

what is HIGH mileage on a sports bike?

and whats ok mileage on a sports bike
on the odometer , total miles on the bike

Answer
With today's motorcycles, it is not uncommon to see what some may consider high mileage. There are several factors you have to take into consideration, 1. Age of the machine 2. Has regular maintenance been done? 3. Has the machine been abused, neglected or laid down? And 4. Has any jerry-rigging on the electrical and mechanical components been done?

Taking the above into account, a bike that has been taken care of, all service done at the recommended intervals and not abused by exceeding it's designed performance limits usually will last many many years beyond it's expected life. Example: I have a 1980 kawasaki KZ1300 with 26,000 miles, its in good shape, well maintained and not abused and should last at least another 26,000 plus miles very easily. I've seen 50,000 and 100,000 mile bikes that still have plenty of life in them just because the owners has taken care of their machines.

And the very nature of a sport bike is power and speed. Some of these machines are owned by a young kid or twenty-something adult who usually take these machines to the design limits or use them for stunting. These machines are designed for speed and handling not stunting.

And finally to answer your question based on what I said in the above paragraphs, Sports bikes with any amount of miles may be considered HIGH milage if the history of the machine shows signs of neglect, abuse or jerry-rigging. Generally, a high performance machine will wear out faster than one built for endurance. And a sports bike that is taken care of and not neglected or abused, 32,000 plus miles is considered high mileage but not at the end of it's service life.

i can't put my feet on my bike pedals?

Aaron S

i just started to learn yesterday i am 14. i know its sad. but i cant put my feet on the pedals i can balence but i can't put my feet on the pedals so any tips ppl?

Answer
Lower the seat. Your leg should be almost, but not fully, extended when your foot rests on the pedal at the bottom of the stroke. It's really hard to learn if the bike doesn't fit you.

FWIW, one of our kids had a lot of trouble learning because she was so afraid of being hurt. We bought her knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist braces, so that even if she fell she couldn't really get hurt very badly. Once she felt safe, she learned in about two days and never wore the protective gear again, except her helmet.

What size bike would be best to get my 4 year old?

14' or 16'?

Answer
It is not possible to say that because you didnt give us the height of your child.
Technically, the way you should select a bike is:
1: the feet should comfortably reach the pedals and be able to move them without any strain. check the design of the pedals too. They should be wide enough to accomodate the foot and should not slip or slide.
2. his/her feet should be able make contact with the ground when sittinng on the bike. This helps tremendously because in case of an emergency or sudden stop, contact with the ground is essential.
3. the arms must be able to reach the handlebars easily and he/she should be able to turn well, the full turning radius of the bike.
4. The sitting position should be right to avoid spinal problems and back aches. Most bikes come with adjustable seat and handlebar heights.
5. The seat itself should have good padding and support.
6. It depends on the style too. I bought my kid a bike and he threw it away saying he didnt like that color and the model.
7. Bounce the bike a few times and see how it springs. if it bounces well, that means the tyres are good and it has good shocks. If it doesnt, then your kid will have a really rough and bumpy ride.
8. get some luggage space, either in front of the handlebars or behind the seat.
9. Check the drive-chain and wheel spokes. They should not be too close or else the leg will entangle.

I know it seems to be a lot, but buying a bike isnt childs play..
Hope this helps
Happy biking

Remember when i asked what bike it was. i found it!?

carlos

so here is the link again
http://picasaweb.google.com/cyclingthings/ColnagoBikeWithCampagnoloSuperRecordAndTubularWheelsWwwBikingthingsCom
so guess what it is. a brand i have never heard of, but now i am falling in love for it.
3rensho from Japan. I have been reading about them what do you guys know about it?
Carlos
http://www.bikingthings.com

Answer
3Rensho -- or 'San Rensho' as I was told it was pronounced -- are beautiful bikes that I've always had an affinity for. Very clean lines with the coolest looking fast back seat stays I've ever seen. The first bike shop I ever worked at back in the mid '80's had a fuchsia painted 3rensho with the old Dura Ace group (and when I say old I mean pre-indexed shifters) which had the way cool center pull brakes and funky platform clip pedals. For a 15 year old kid that was the ultimate back then.

Cheap Road bike?

Kristie L

Hi,
I need a road bike for an 18 mile race two weeks away. Other than that I will use it on a bike path and the road about 2 miles at a time. I really want a cheap bike, no more than $300. But now that Iâm researching, the one bike I thought I would get, the GMC Denali Women's Road Bike, people say itâs not a good bike. I cannot spend a lot of money. What will work? I really donât like that straight bar from the handle to the seat. Can I get away with a more angled bar? As a kid, I remembered borrowing a âboysâ bike and finding that bar annoying.

Also, this is a triathlon I doing. I will swim ½ mile first. I donât care about time or winning, as long as Iâm within what they allow. I just want to cross the finish line. I noticed that they sell triathlon suits good for all three parts of the race. Do people really leave a wet suit on for biking or do some people change into dry clothes? Is a wet bathing suit really uncomfortable will biking, running?

Thank you.

Answer
The Denali you mentioned is not a very good bike, I've seen them at Wally Mart ... BUT if you will hardly ride it then sure it's fine to get, it will work and for the ocassional 15 minute ride it's more than fine. Really cheap road bikes are very hard to find.

Many bikes are sold with a sloping top tubes now. The top tube slopes down towards the seat. That could be an option in many brands of bikes.

Isn't there anyway you could borrow a bike for this one time event? 18 miles isn't very long and to buy a bike that you really won't use seems a waste. Some bike shops will rent a bike for the day check it out. It just depends where you live. Same thing for the Tri suit. Buy it for a couple hours use? No way. Use a swim suit and you can throw on shorts over it if your modest for the ride/run. Make sure the shorts are NOT cotton, but made of anything that dries fast.

What have you been riding to train for this? You have done a little training??? Maybe?

From what you say this is a one time short Tri you want to do . Very cool, but borrow or rent if you can. Don't buy stuff you'll never use just to look cool. Be happy you want to do this and if you make the cut off Congrates to you.

Good Luck

any good bmx websites in uk?

Q. hi iam looking for good websites that is in the UK could you please give me the name of the website

Answer
U can get Mongoose Brawler Boy's BMX/Jump Bike (20-Inch Wheels) was packaged well and easy to assemble (there was actually less assembly required than expected). It rides very smoothly and quietly, and the parts are high quality. Part of me would like it lighter than 28lbs. (its not 100% chromoly) but overall I have absolutely no complaints - and no matter what others say about Mongoose, this bike is high quality. I haven't fully exposed it to the jumps and action of a dirt track, but I'm not expecting any issues. For the price you get all the quality parts of a higher priced bike, except maybe for 3 or 4 extra pounds.

U can see in amazon for best bmx.

Want to dabble in youth triathlons, good/affordable bike?

Q. im 16 and im buying my car soon so i dont have $2000 to spend on a fancy bike. im going to do "Aquabike" race with my friend, and im going to do the cycling leg. what kind of bike would be the best bet for me?
i found this, and its within my price range (200ish)
http://www.amazon.com/Takara-Kabuto-Single-Speed-Road/dp/B004W8LG1S
would that be something good for me?
oh im 5'10 so what size would be best for me?
thanks!

Answer
200? Look to spend around 4 times that to get an entry level road bike. If I were you, I'd get a bike instead of a car, you'll save so much money.

Redline does not make road bikes, and the proline is a bmx racing bike, not suitable for a triathlon

also, you may want aerobars since your doing a T.

Are there any triathlons this summer somewhat close to NY that teens can participate in?

TheDogStar

My friend and I were thinking of running a triathlon this summer, and the first step is... finding one to participate in. Are there any triathlons going on this summer that...
-13-year-olds can compete in
-Is somewhat close to NY
??? Please provide links if possible.

Answer
Great decision!!

Check out citytri.com

I know that they have a Youth Duathlon coming up soon. It might be fun for you to "get your feet wet" with a duathlon(run/bike/run). That way you don't have to worry about having a wetsuit and such for the swim-all you need is a bike and a good pair of running shoes!

Good luck.

When do kids usually take their training wheels off their bikes?

Q.

Answer
It depends on the child and when they feel comfortable taking them off. My youngest sister was 4, my other sister and my brother were both like 5, and I was about 7.

I've known kids who were as young as 3 who could ride a bike without training wheels and i've known kids as old as 10 who just felt comfortbale with taking the training wheeels off.

Most kids I think are about 4 to 6 years old though.

My son is 5 years old (although physically he is more on the level of a 3 year old) and he has just started riding a trike good about 6 months ago, and we are going to be getting him his own bike soon, but the training wheels are probably going to be on for quite awhile as he isn't going to be able to ride a two wheeler bike for a long time.

Balance bike or training wheels?

Q. A little background: My eldest daughter wanted a bike a few years ago, and so we got her a really nice one with training wheels... which she is really nervous about riding. I'd forgotten how much training wheels suck. So here we are two years later, and she still can't ride a bike.

The question: Now my three year old wants a bike, so I'm wondering, does anyone have experience with those balance bikes? Are they worth it, or just kind of gimmicky? Should I just stick with the flawed, but time-tested training wheels? How did your kids learn to ride a bike?

Answer
Got my daughter a balance bike at age two (a Strider... light weight and sturdy.. the wood ones seem to break all the time and are very heavy.) She LOVES it and scoots around everywhere with it. At age three, got her a bike with training wheels.. she's still not taken that much interest in it, though rides it once in awhile for the novelty. We're thinking (she's nearly four) of taking the training wheels off... feel she might actually do better without them. IF she had been taller when we'd bought the Strider, might have gone right to a peddle bike and just removed the peddles and turned it into a balance bike in order to save $$.. BUT the Strider isn't that costly and I think it will likely have a resale value when it's time to move on from it.

My girl hasn't mastered the peddle bike yet, but she's a pro on the balance bike and she's really enjoyed it. Jury's still out on whether or not it helped her learn to ride a peddle bike, but regardless, she's had a blast with it.

How am I going to possibly take all 3 of my children on a bike ride in the summer if I can only find...???

twin-mami

a bike trailer for 2 children!! I have 3, I have a 4 yr. old daughter and 3 yr. old twins, does anyone know of anything I can do in order to take them all on a bike ride, do they make bike trailers for 3 children or what could I do??? Thanks!

Answer
Burley makes a 3 kid trailer. Got one from REI.

what type of bike should i get?

Q. well i've been needing a bike for awhile.....i live in the city however i might want to use it on trails or gravel. i'm going to get one from REI but they have a ton of different kinds.

-cruiser
-hybrid
-mountain
-road
-urban

also, i'm 13 and short, 4'9" to be exact. however i don't want a kids bike....which would be the best option and what size? probably small, but would i fit it? when i check bike size i sit on it with my feet on the peddles slightly in front of me. any answers would be great!

Answer
Next to your list of 5 bike types, write the terrain where you think that bike will be ideal for.
ie: cruiser: leisure rides along the boardwalk and sandy trails in no hurry.

Then consider what of those you will be doing.
Also think about how long rides you will take 15 min~3 miles or 1hour~15 miles or 3 hour~45 miles?

And finally, consider if you will be doing any growing, so you don't buy a bike that will be too small next summer.

why do mountain bikers lean over so far why not sit up straight like you were riding a motercycle?

Q. when i was a KID we got on the bike and our handle bars were up so high, and we sat on the bike..now..I just got a new specialized rock-hpr
and I have to bend over to grab the bars, why is this

Answer
Cruiser style bikes still have an upright seating position. If you are just riding slowly around town that position is fine. For actual mountain biking the trail will dictate the shifting of weight forward, backward, up down, so the handlebars are lower so that you can do this easily. Also if you sat bolt upright on a mountain bike your back would absorb all the shock from all the bumps. Here is some text from Sheldon Brown on the subject:

Some back-pain sufferers modify their bicycles with extra-high handlebars so that they can sit bolt upright, with their spines straight. This is actually counterproductive in most cases, because a straight spine has no way to "give" when the bike hits bumps. Road irregularities will jam the vertebrae together, often aggravating existing back problems. The bolt-upright posture is comfortable if you're sitting stationary on the bike, but is not suitable for riding much faster than a brisk walk. Riders who for some reason require such a position should use some form of suspension...a sprung saddle at the very least.

And if you look at motocross bikes they have lower handlebars, you are not sitting upright on them like some Harley cruiser.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE BIKE TO BUY FOR MYSELF? I'M CONFUSED ON THE "INCHES" ISSUE?

RoadTrippi

I'm 5'4 tall w/ a 32" inseam and I'm looking at bikes online but I have no clue what to size to buy. Thanks for any help I can get!

Answer
The Toys R Us answer hit a nerve with me.....Never buy a bike at Toys R us! those are made for kids and they couldnt be cheaper. That response is obviously from someone who knows very little about cycling too.
With a 32" inseam you could ride any road bike in a 54cm to a 56cm in most brands but not all. Every manufacturer makes similar models but not all will fit you the same. In a mountain bike a 26" wheel is the most common wheel size out there and this is NOT frame size, this is wheel only (a 24" wheel size on ANY bike would be too small for you and is a KIDS bike, with the exception of BMX 24" wheels and such)
With a 32" inseam you could even go as far as a 29" wheel size in a medium frame size in nearly any make too. I have a 30" inseam and ride a 17" in mountain and a 54cm in road. Hybrid/comfort bikes usually fit me with a 17-18" frame and even a 19" on some models.
For a cruiser, nearly anyone over 5'1" up can ride one with some adjustments. If you can place your feet flat on the ground while seated on the saddle the seat is TOO LOW!
As for the inches issue: it is measured from the top of the seat post tube down to the center bolt of the crank on the bike and this is how mountain and hybrid/comfort bikes are measured. Road bikes (racing) are measured the same way but in Centimeters and there is also the top tube length to consider when buying a road bike too. It is generally 1-2 cm longer than the seat tube length in mens bikes and less in womens bikes.

Best Road Biking Gear ?

meeeee!

My dad is an avid biker.
However, he is sacrificial and never buys anything for himself, only for his family, so he has done without the legitimate biking gear for years.

This Christmas, I want to hook him up with some legitimate gear!

It's cooler where I live, so I know he definitely needs some biking pants, a jacket, and like, biking glasses (he always rides with sunglasses, but I want him to have the legitimate gear) (:

Any other suggestions, please suggest away!

I need help!
Thanks so much!
(if you provide links, it would be greatly appreciated!)

Answer
You sound like my kids. I'm congenitally cheap. I do get legitimate gear, but I lean towards the sale bins and closeouts, while my kids get me the good stuff that I would never buy for myself. Yes, its always appreciated.

Some thoughts: Shoes are good, but you can't buy them online, since sizes and fit are all over the place even among different models from the same brand.

Gloves are always good. If you're dad's putting in any kind of miles, he's wearing out gloves constantly. Tights, jerseys, underarmour (I like that better than bike specific base layers)

Here's my favorite place for a variety of jerseys. They have other stuff as well. If you get lucky and find what you need in their closeout section, you can be stylish AND frugal.

http://www.primalwear.com/

The other place I get most of my bike stuff:

http://www.performancebike.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/TopCategories_10052_10551_-1?

Then of course there's your friendly LBS (local bike shop).

Which is better. A fixed gear (fixie) or a mountain bike?

Q. I live in a small town where everyone rides their bikes to commute. I mean there are kids everywhere riding bikes. All my friends live across a bridge. So I'm wondering if a mountain bike, or a fixed gear would be better to go over the bridge. Everyday in the summer I will be going over this bridge so which one is better. Fixed gear, or mountain bike.

Answer
John, a bike with gears will help you go uphill allot easier, and downhill/level ground allot faster. If that's not important to you, and you are planning to ride on level ground only, a fixie could be a good choice. Now, if you are buying a bike just do commute or basically ride on roads, get a hybrid. It will give you a much more comfortable ride, mountain bikes are design for better performance on off-road in expense of comfort.

But in the end, I recommend you get a bike with gears. In the long run, it will be much more enjoyable and usable.

Stick with Portland. Salem is not far away and you'll probably pass through it on the train ride...but Portland will be the place to be. Have a fun visit.

The Amtrak station is walking distance to a lot of things and Portland has a great bus and light rail system.

Answer
Alright, for about over a year, Summer 2006 my brothers, neighborhood kids, and i were ALL being stalked.

Summer 2006.
A classmate that lived close to us, rode his bike to our house. Me and my two brothers were playing with the kids across the street. My classmate took my brothers and they all rode thier bikes, i was thirsty, ran across the street to my house to grab a drink. Jumped on my bike, ready to head back over to the kids (3) across the streets house, i after i had a drink.
I got a call from my friend who is female that also lives close, she was coming over but her mother said no because somone was driving up and down her house which stopped ten minutes ago.
I peddle my bike down the drive way, when i stopped to look out for cars. One car stopped (30 ft) at a stop sign, which led to another street, next to my neigbors house.
Curious, i just sat on my bike, waiting for this person to make his move. After two minutes, he pulled onto the street.
I went across the street and the boys had to go inside. I turned back around and came to my house
Ten minutes later my brothers and friend returned, claiming a car attempted to pull in front of my youngest brother, Matthew.
My mom asked "What Color,"
they gave the same exact description of the car that stopped at the stop sign. White with Tan top, turns out my brothers were riding on that road, which led to a series of roads, that the car turned onto.
Moments later that car drove back and forth back and forth at least 7 times on our road.
Now its night time. My mother drove down to the gasstation, trying to spot that car, found that car, that car sped off.
Our car is a brown van, very noticable.
That night, we slept in our mothers room.

Later that summer, a drive by was preformed outside of our house, and we live in a nice neighborhood, and no one was harmed.

Then i was home alone, a couple of weeks before the 6th grade. I walked downstairs to find my mother, she was gone. My brothers and grandmother were at McDonalds.
Then i walked out of my room, and downstairs my mothers light was off. I was watching the movie 'Hostage' with Bruce Willis. I walked outside, the movie ended, and my moms bedroom light was on.
I called my grandmother. It was now pouring down rain. Ten minutes later she came. I ran downstairs as quick as i could to open the door, i did. The door was unlocked. As well as the others.
My mother came home. I told her. She didn't believe me.

We began the 6th grade, after that summer. We road our bus with our neighbor, whose actually our neigbors daughter who was living with her grandparents and her parents and her sister until thier house was built.
So we road the bus and while on our way to school, we went through this not so good neighborhood to pick up a couple of kids.
I could never forget that car. When we drove past it on that street, i noticed it instantly, and a different liscense plate number, with the familier liscense plate number turned upside down sitting above the airbag.
I told my mother, we drove onto that road, took us a while to find it, when we finally did, it was right where we left it.

That night, my little brother was having a baseball game, little league. I didn't want to go, so there i was, 9:00pm, alone in the house with no one else.
6 months earlier, my mother showed me an email about how some techiniques how killers lure woman outside by playing a tape recorder of a baby crying outside of thier home.

I was on my mothers laptop in her office. Then i heard a tapping on the window. The blinds were shut, i ignored it.
Then a baby was crying, as it sounded. During the middle of the cry, it shut up. Like turning off a tape recorder that fast.
I freaked out and ran into my living room. Called my mother. She came home. And didn't believe me, again. Apparently, someone was watching while we drove by that house.

The next day i told my neighbor. For the following week she made fun of me 'I hope you don't hear baby crying!' when we got off the bus.
She was in 8th grade.
Then. The week after that, we got off of the bus. We were laughing and having fun, i said "Bye," as i walked to my house.
We all heard a screech of brakes.
My brother, me, and my neighbor Nikki, all turned around. A WHITE CAR WITH BROWN TOP STOPPED!! THE PERSON INSIDE, I COULD ONLY SEE WAS WEARING GLASSES AND WAS WHITE.
THAT shut my neighbor up.

My mother, i told her, she didn;t consider the other events, but was worried. We moved during Summer 2007. Not for that reason, but my mother thought our street was too busy. We only moved 4 miles away, into a nicer calmer neighborhood. Where the kids across the street and my classmate now live.

That was the last incident with the car.

We haven't put up a for sale sign yet, because were getting ready to sell the house next Monday.
I'm afraid once we put up that for sale sign, he'll be back. Realizing were gone. He'll follow us to our new house.

And the reason why i think he's out to get us, is because the first time i saw this car, i drove my bike down the road after my brothers told me what happened. The car was parked in the grass, speaking with a black man. I suppose something to do with drugs and the person may think we are on to them.

Parents: Do you care about "Going Green" (the environment)?

Q. And do you teach your kids to live with less power? I see all these new "Go Green" stuff that helps the environment and wondered if anyone actually cared

Answer
It's very marketable now to put "GREEN" in front of whatever you're selling. It's the new what used to be "free" or "low" is to fat in foods. Sad but many products professing to be green are just names. They always have to be checked out. I actually care and it's astonishing how many people say they're doing there best but just recycling or using a brought bag to the grocers instead of using plastic is not putting a real dent in our huge problem but is a start. There are so many more things we can do that if everyone began these practices which are not difficult we could make a significant impact and save money too:

Take a shorter shower and donât let the water run when brushing your teeth or shaving.
Replace incandescent light bulbs with energy-saving compact fluorescents or even better LED's.
Line your windows & doors with insulation
Get rid of your lawn and drip system the plants left.
Compost your leftovers for fertilizer
Install a simple roof gutter drain into a rain barrel for use
Stop using insecticides and detergent surfactents instead use non-polutant bio-degradable products.
Only buy recycled paper products
Reduce your intake of or stop eating meats
Stop buying bottled water, use faucet purifiers instead.
Walk or ride a bike instead of driving or use public transport.
