im building a catapult and trying to figure out what will stretchh i look for surgical tubing can not find at local stores. please help
Answer
Inner tube rubber is pretty strechy and so should work. Some sources peg elongation at 480% at breaking point. When I was a kid, I purchased a slingshot in Mexico that used long strips from innertubes. The strips lasted for awhile, then would start to get a lateral tear that fairly quickly snapped the band. Modern slingshots seem to use surgical tubing.
For stretchy surgical tubing, the generic names are "latex tubing" and "natural rubber tubing". Tygon probably had the best-known product, with technical information identified here:

If you search using either of the above two generic names, there are several on-line sources. Here are some examples:

http://www.amazon.com/Flexible-Latex-Tubing-Thickness-Length/dp/B000FMWMA4
http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=latex+tubing
As far as local stores go, the tubing probably isn't carried except by say a medical, health, or chemical supply house.
Depending upon size needed, perhaps a sling-shot band would work:

Kilino9
I saw on the street a kids bike attached to an adult's bike with a sort of a tag along pipe kind of a thing. Does anybody know where to buy it or what it is called
Answer
There are two different types. One is called a Tag A Long that is made to attach to the seat post of an adult bike and the other is a boom type device that lifts the front wheel of the childs bike off the ground. The tag a long is a much better design.
