Anyone know any good online chat games?

Seppala Di

My friends and I decided we want to all play an online chat game together, and I couldnt really find a good game to play. So you all know, I am not a child so I dont want anything like club penguin. I was looking for something like IMVU or Second Life where the focus wasnt nessicarly on fighting and leveling up. After a few hours of research.. I still have failed to find an interesting game for us all to play. Anyone know of any good games? Preferably free.

Answer
Second Life (SL) isn't fighting and leveling up at all. Because SL allows people to customise the virtual world to suit their needs, it IS possible to create systems for role-playing where you have fighting and levels, but the nature of SL demands that the people who want to do this have their own area for such activities so they don't bother those who don't share their interests. This means you may never stumble upon a role-playing area, although you may encounter someone who role-plays in SL. The places you choose to frequent will dictate the types of people you meet. If you like rock music, you'll hang out at rock clubs and meet like-minded people. If you like sailing, you'll go to a sailing simulation area. If you are a shop-a-holic, you'll be in one of the thousands of fashion stores in SL.

If you're worried about role-players intruding on your privacy, maybe you don't realise quite how large Second Life is. Last time they totaled up the land area of SL (to scale, of course) it was something like twice the size of the city of San Fransisco and it's suburbs. The land is split up into square regions and each region is roughly the size of a small village. People just like yourself buy or rent these regions (yes - with real money) and build and landscape the area. Some are private and you can only go there if you're invited, but that probably takes up only around 15% of the total land area. Most places are open to visitors. These places can be shops, music clubs, parks, live music venues, sailing clubs, or any number of things. In SL, you will find every sort of activity you can imagine, from church groups to sex clubs. There are virtual college campuses owned by real life colleges and universities; museums and art galleries, recreations of real life places (Paris, London, New York, Berlin);vast areas for sailing, skiing, flying planes, racing cars, riding bikes and horses; political interest groups; health advice centres; areas themed on TV shows or movies; regions owned by major world companies (such as Sony, the BBC, Mazda) and much more. The UK pop band Duran Duran own several regions where they perform live concerts, or band members DJ favourite tunes (and yes, it's the real band members playing the avatars). Yoko Ono held an art exhibition in SL in 2011 and Phil Collins performed a live concert in SL in 2012.

So SL will have what you and your friends are looking for ... somewhere. It's just a matter of joining, creating an avatar and exploring until you find the sorts of places you like. Once you have your avatars made, take a look at the Second Life Destination Guide for ideas of places to go to. Look at the Chat Hotspots section (Personally, I would recommend The Blarney Stone). You can find the guide here: http://secondlife.com/destinations/

Xbox live is very fun, idk about ps3 online, but video games are a good passtiume. If you lve by kids your age bike around with them, you could possibly play pranks like ring a door bell run, i do it all the time its very fun.
