Hey people, I'm 14 and I'm really shy with girls. I don't know how to start a conversation or how to talk to them, I get nervous and just think they'll look at me and walk away. It doesn't help when people just say be confident or be yourself. How do I work on my confidence and how do I build up to a relationship?

This is a growing experience. I was extremely shy and was absolutely enamored with beautiful girls. To gain girls interest, they have to be interested in you first. So, give your self-time, start slow, and donât expect anything big from an acquaintance, friendship or relationship with a girl. Unfortunately, most girls up until the age of 16 are not allowed to have boy friends or dates; sometimes even 18 years old. Girls are shy too, so remember this. Plus girls at age 14 are still at an immature age and even though they too are attracted to boys, they have real high standards and wonât just give anyone the time of day. If you attempt to socialize, then be creative, use things outside yourself as excuses to talk with girls; for instance, the lunch menu at a cafeteria or maybe you run into them at the bike racks and you say something about their bike, just something small at first like: âI like that brand bicycleâ or âI like that color on your bikeâ; or you can compliment them about what they are wearing. No matter what you talk about donât come across as if you want or need something, keep it casual, laid back, relaxed but most of all be confident, donât fidget with your feet or your hands. You can keep your hands occupied by holding something in them like s set of books from one of your classes; of, if you know what she likes to read, have a copy of one of her books; but, make sure you have read it so you donât come across looking stupid. Girls like boys who believe in themselves and are confident. Of course, most boys your age are just as immature as girls if not more, so donât expect to be an Albert Einstein or a George Clooney that takes years and years to be at that level. Where talking about growing up, getting through school, getting a decent education so that you can go somewhere in your life. Let me tell you, I have been in enough relationships with girls to know that they can distract you from your lifeâs purpose. At your age you donât always know what your intended to do in this lifetime. But just being a kid, enjoying life, having fun, having a social life and getting an education are priorities. So, donât worry so much about being shy, it is natural. One more word of advice, if you want to be around girls take the same classes they do like âHome Economicsâ, âChoresâ or âCheer leading squadâ.

How come the only time you see a black person riding a bicycle, its out of necessity?

I never see black people just riding bikes for fun. Just to go for a stroll around the neighborhood, or ride around town with their kids, stuff like that. I only see black people riding bikes because they have no car. I was thinking about the Brady Bunch, where the entire family was riding their bikes around, and it seemed cool to me to do it, but when I asked my wife she said "you crazy, thats white people stuff".

Bax...about to give up on you, again...black people ride bikes for exercise all the time...get out your neighborhood which appears to be limited...go to a cycle race, state park or local trail..and do you remember the behind the scenes mess with the Brady Bunch...homo father, oldest teen son trying to bed his tv mom, Mrs. Brady having an affair where she admits she got crabs, and the girls having sex with the tv brothers, drugs, and one in a porno...now you sound like some of the whites who believe their own myths...It was a frigging tv show!! If your 'wife' won't go, then take your kids on your own..dayumm
