My best friends mum thinks i'm a bad influence on him and doesn't like having me in the house. i'm 16 and have known him for about four years. It's because i smoke, do dangerous things, get into fights, drive my quad bike on the roads without a driving license, get into trouble with the police and wear predominantly black clothes but i don't drink or do drugs whereas my friend does. I don't see why i'm so bad. She's the only mother who thinks i'm a bad person. Another mates mum described me as well spoken and polite.
What could i do to make her think i'm a better person? Would you let your kids be friends with me?
Answer
well for a start, you could behave better i;e quit smoking(nothing cool about it)as for doing stupid things...what can i say...boys will be boys!!!
There's basically nothing you can do to change mums mind, when people meet, opinions of character are formed in the first 60mins&basically this thought always remains,no matter how things change.
So my opinion is to change yourself for yourself only, because you simply can not please every one all of the time.
I am mum to a 13yr old boy&i go through the same things with his friend(they do drugs, vandalise, commit crimes, join gangs)i tell him what i think&hope he will make the right decision, but he will do what he wants behind my back,so i try to let him live&learn,so far he has let some friends(bad ones)go...but he decided to once he saw the trouble that comes with certain behaviours. So far he doesn't do drugs, steal, crime ect.
So kid all i can say is try to make educated decisions&pull yourself together, for your own sake, you will pay down the line!!!!
Take it upon yourself&talk to the mum if the friend matters to you that much, assure her that despite how stupid you sometimes are, your mate is not and you always have their back, see how ya go.
Just step up boy....be a man&don't forget to check ya-self.
PS:my son does stupid stunts with bikes, scooters, skateboards(he does this-he's been stitched up plenty!)I do not blame the boys he was with, coz i know with or without them,he will do it.
I don't lay blame on other kids,i know boys will be boys.
So don't stress to much,take care&be carefull.

Eric A
It seems like no matter how hard i look, i wont find my perfect girl. Any girls reading this let me know if this is YOU: are their any girls out their that are straight edge (no drugs, alcohol, sex until marriage), are a tomboy, is into LOWRIDING!!!!! Working out, collecting records, golfing, and going to concerts!!! Loves music. Subject-wise has hovered around History because much of my political beliefs has been shaped by what I learned in the past. History plays a key role in shaping our future so we can learn from it or repeat our mistakes. Is a Republican, believes in Small Government, Less Tax, and a Strong Military! Social stances include, Pro-life, Pro-Israel, Pro-marriage, and Pro-gun! Is more about looking good than following the latest look of the week! 100% loves Jesus Is single with no kids and currently seeking for a relationship, but not rushing herself. that's my definition of a perfect girl!!!!!! THANKS!
Answer
Eric, I'm going to be really honest with you.
I'm eighteen and a Christian. I'm in an excellent college studying neuroscience and sociology with an emphasis in human services. I believe that the past shapes our lives and our choices shape the people we become today; in fact, that was the subject of an essay I wrote to win the scholarship that's putting me through school. I've never drunk, done drugs, or done anything sexually immoral. I'm single, a virgin, and I obviously don't have kids. I love music and am very involved in music programs especially at my church. I love classic rock and one of my favorite memories is going to a rock concert with my dad. I make my own clothes because I know how to and I'm more into what I like fashion-wise than what everyone else is wearing. I have three brothers and love wrestling, hunting, and racing with them (quads, bikes, cars, whatever we can get our hands on.) I love hiking and exploring new patches of wilderness, and have a job leading hiking groups at a Christian camp this summer. I've never golfed before, but I'd love it if someone would take the time to teach me. I'm registered Republican, but I vote for the person I think will do the best job in office. I'm pro-life, pro-marriage, and own guns and know how to use them. I believe in a small government, less tax, and a strong military because a majority of my family is made up of politicians, lawyers, and judges who actually know what they're talking about. I make an apple crisp that melts in your mouth and am currently learning to surf, somewhat badly.
But I'm not perfect either. Forgiven? Yes. Wholeheartedly trying to live life to please Christ? Yes. Perfect? No.
And I don't "date" guys over the internet.
You see, I've got a great relationship with God and I'm doing work that is truly fulfilling to me. And yeah, sure, someday I'd love to meet the right man for me. But it's going to be in God's time, not in mine. I pray for this man every night, that he will be led in righteousness and that I can be a woman who is worthy of him. But until such a time comes I trust God with my heart and try (not always successfully) to focus on my relationship with him instead of dating.
So, Eric, what was the point of all this? To prove to you and anyone else who may read this that good girls do exist. We might be a little hard to find, and we're certainly not perfect, but we do exist. And we're praying and waiting for good men who will come along side us. So keep on hoping, don't lower your standards, and be the kind of man that a good woman can love and trust one day.
Blessings to you.
