Is it true that kids in Puerto Rico of any age are able to drive cars?

The White

I had a friend who always lies and comes up with the most outrageous lies and thinks that people are gullible enough to believe them. He is Puerto Rican and goes to Puerto Rico a lot and has a lot of family there.

About 2 years ago, we were talking about driving and stuff and what the driving age was here in PA. He then told me that he wishes he was back in Puerto Rico because in Puerto Rico, kids of any age can drive as long as they pass the test. He says there are like 7 year olds driving cars and that once he even saw a 4 year old who was driving. He said that his cousin there is 8 and he drives and he said that every summer when he goes to Puerto Rico, he uses his grandma's car to drive and stuff. He says that they own cars and the elementary kids drive themselves to school every morning instead of having their parents take them. He said that they live literally drive down the road and the streets like that.

He also told me that he was going to buy a car from Puerto Rico, because there they are really cheap and like $100. He said that steering wheels are on the right side of the car like British cars. He also told me all this other stuff about Puerto Rico like everyone there lives in a mansion and that young kids around 10 can get real jobs. He said he knew a 15 year old lawyer and that the kids had to go to school only 2-3 days a week and he just told me all this stuff. He said more but it is too much to say.

But I was just wondering if the part about kids of any age driving was true? And are the cars really like 100 dollars?

Answer

* No, not at any age.
* to take the test (written test) and get a learners license the person has to have 16 yrs old.
* to take the drive test the person must had at least 3 months with the learners permit.
* A younger kid do learm how to drive (older brothers or father teach them), but not do it legally. The law has a 16 yrs old limit.
* However, there has been at least one documented case, by the police and the press, where a little kid (7 yrs old?) has taken the wheel and drive a car to get his mother to the hospital. The kid was declared a herom he saved his Mom;s life. Police did not gave him a ticket recognizing it was an emergency.

trouble putting front tire on kids bike?

I just bought a new 16" bike for my 5 year old. Some assembly is required and that's normally not an issue at all. The front tire, however, does not fit on the fork(the fork is too narrow). anyone have any tips? The bike is a very basic girls Pacific Twirl.

Answer
You will need to pull them apart a little, most cheap bikes are like that. If it looks bent take it back, but most of the time you will have to spread the forks.
