My family recently relocated to a new area. We chose a house we loved and everything was great until a couple of months ago. I have one 7 year old son who I love dearly but I really don't like children at all. I don't mind children as much when they have good manners and you can tell that their parents took the time to be good parents.
I have a couple neighbors with really bratty, rude kids. They are always messing with stuff on my property, touching our cars, and trying to take stuff that's outside that doesn't belong to them. There are absolutely no boundaries. I've given them the rules of our house and when they are on our property but it's completely disregarded. Recently they just started trying to come into my house whenever. I try to make sure the doors are always locked but sometimes it's necessary to leave one unlocked if someone is outside doing something. They do still try and get in when the doors are locked though. I walked into my living room the other day and found two kids jumping on my couch trying to figure out how to get my TV to turn on. I just about flipped out and wanted to scream at them. These kids completely ruin my son's time when he goes out to play with other friends. I want him to be able to play outside but I don't need a kid ringing my doorbell (20 times in a row) and "telling" because my son won't let them ride his bike or play with his toys, etc. If I wanted to listen to kids tattle on one another for no reason I would have had more than one. I don't want to be the bitchy mean lady in the neighborhood but my patience is completely gone. I find myself hardly able to address them without sounding really mean anymore. I have tired to talk to the other parents about how it's not okay for them to just come in our house or mess with our stuff, but the only thing that changed is that they aren't as nice when they see us. It's obvious to me that they consistently send they're kids out every day to roam the neighborhood because they don't want to deal with them at home. Who let's 6 and 7 year old kids play completely unsupervised (you can't see my house from their house so I know the parents aren't watching them)?
Any ideas on how I can deal with this before I go insane? I don't feel it's okay to discipline other people's children. It's not like they would listen anyway.
HELP!!

I've spoken to the parents three times. I've very firm. The more I speak to them the more defensive they get and the less they take action. I'm not the only one in the neighborhood having these problems. The kids aren't EVER supervised so they just run around and do whatever they want.

Answer
if the kids arent being supervised call cps, they might move them elsewhere, also thats tresspassing and the parents could get in trouble for that,

How to calm my nervous horse on out rides?

Kai

II bought a 7 year old mare from a farmer who used her for general farm work. She has a big scar in the front of her chest and is a little sensitve on this. I think that she might have ran into wire as she was living on a cattle farm. Other than that, she has not been mistreated or hurt. She was sleeping in the veld and slept inside a stable for the first time in Nov when I bought her. She has a lovely personality. She doesnt bite, kick, buck except se might be a bit lazy. She goes like a dream when I work her in my grass arena.I've noticed that she also freezes when there are something funny/new, like the fly masks or having a blanket on. With the blanket, she frose for about 10 min while I put it on and fixed the buckles all while talking to her like I do normally. After a while she relaxes and starts eating her hay again. I have no problem after this and she wears her blanket without a problem. My problem is out rides. She gets very nervous. And not with the usual bikes, kids, motor bikes, cars ect. My friend rides with on her TB and he gets a little strung up every now and then. Funny thing is, this is when she is calm. She just ignores him and will even pass him and cary on walking. She gets nervous when there are other horses around like the neighbours horses comming to the fence to say hi. This is when she freezes. When I push her forward, she backs up and then wants to run. Luckly I've stopped her but then she is really nervous and starts shaking. A friend sugessted I get of and lead her pass the scarry things. I cant get off because when she "unfreeze" she backs up and she pulls me into the air and then she is really nervous. As long as I ride her, I can manage her and she calms down much easier. I've tried leaving her untill she "unfreezes" herself but this takes a while sometime and this make me nervous. She is 15.3h and I'm tall but she still manage to drag me off my feet when she spooks. Andy ideas how to fix this?

Answer
Hi my horse is seven and was scared when trail riding. I had my mum or friend lead her past them when I was still on the horse. Hope I helped bye
