my dad sez he will get me a quad, not a pit bike, but because its winter, should i get it now or wait?

No this is a toy not a real quad it would get burried in snow

upgrading my kid quad to a 80cc?

MY kid has a 50cc quad. i want to buy a 80cc motor and install on his 50cc is that possible, could the motor be a diffrent brand or it has to be same brand as the 50cc.

Sell it and buy an 80, where are you going to find a good motor that's not in a bike? and an 80 frame is going to be bigger and I would think should have better suspension and brakes
